Ready to make a 5K run (or walk) for the pumpkins?
It's fall, it's fun, it's a good cause...why not join us for the 4th Annual SEMO Pumpkin Run?
Included in your registration:
Do I have to be an amazing runner (or even ANY kind of runner) to participate in the Pumpkin Run or the 1-Mile Fun Run?
There are a number of wonderful competitive runs across the SEMO area (just check out the Jingle Bell run in Charleston in December, the Dogwood-Azalea Festival Run in Charleston each April and the Husker 5K in East Prairie in June --- Not to mention the upcoming Turkey Trot Before You Waddle coming up on Thanksgiving Day in East Prairie!
The Pumpkin Run is focused on getting families outside and moving -- so you can run, walk, tiptoe, skip -- we just want you to enjoy the morning. But always make sure to check with your doctor on any exercise or running event before tackling something new or strenuous!
But if I DO enjoy competitive running....?
While we'll have color stations at points throughout the 5K run, it's 100% up to you if you want to jump into the color fun. If you prefer to just run -- No worries! Just stick to the left side of the course and our color teams will know to let you keep on running! We will have a timeclock at the end -- so why not come on over, enjoy the fun, support a great cause and get a practice run in toward your next big PR! And check out some other great runs in our county coming up...
5k Run FAQs
Q: How much does the Pumpkin Run 5K cost?
A: Get in gear and register early -- by October 6 -- for the best prices. Click here for all the pricing information.
Q: When and where do I pick up my registration packet?
A: THIS PRE-RUN INFORMATION IS COMING SOON!
But registration will re-open Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the run start. Before you or anyone registered with you (i.e. your children) can pick up your registration packet, each person must have a completed registration form and a signed waiver.
Q: Can I pick up registrations for other people?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot let you pick up registration packets for other people other than children registered with you. To make the run as safe as possible, we need to make sure we have the completed registration and run waiver for each participant, including children.
Q: I get two "free" child (12 years old or younger) registrations for each paid adult registration, correct? So do I have to register the child or can we just show up the morning of the run?
A: Each run participant needs a registration bib before they will be allowed to start the event. So we need everyone -- including the free kiddos -- to be registered. If you plan on registering online, each runner (including your two free registrations) will need to complete the online form. And since one of our goals for this run is to get families outside exercising together, we're keeping the additional registrations low cost as well.
Q: If I register by paper form (see Registration Page), how will you contact me to let me know my registration has been received?
A: It's important you put an email address on your registration form so we may email you your registration confirmation. If you have any concerns with this, please contact email@example.com.
Q: Can I get a refund or transfer my registration to someone else?
A: Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or transfers. Please make sure you can attend before purchasing a ticket.
Q: What if it rains or something else causes the run to cancel or be delayed?
A: October can be a little temperamental, but if history follows the pattern, we're hopeful it's going to be an amazing fall day. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for any weather or unforeseen event which causes us to cancel, but we'll work to get all t-shirts and registration packets to people accordingly.
Q. Can I exchange my t-shirt?
A: Unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely we can exchange t-shirts as they are ordered per-registrant. Please make sure you select the correct t-shirt size during registration.
Q. Will there be bag storage at the run?
A: No, we don't have any place to store your bags at the run. So it will be all-carry-all-you! Be sure to check out our Color Runners Guide Page for more tips on making sure your run is fun and your stuff stays clean!
ABOUT THE RUN
Q: Is there a time limit for the 5K?
A: The 5K course will be open and supported by traffic control for approximately 1.5 hours.
Q: Is this a certified 5K? How far is the route?
A: No. But you can expect the route to be approximately 3 miles long with about 4 color stops along the way.
Q: What are the age limits for the 5K? Can kids run in the 5K, too, or just the Fun Run?
A: There are no age limits for the 5K, however all children (ages 13 years old and younger) must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate in the 5K (and children 14-17 years old must have a parental consent to participate). We ask that you please stay together as a family during the run. Parents are entirely responsible for their children and family members. Strollers and baby joggers are allowed; however, for safety reasons, we ask that you start in the back of the pack, regardless of whether you are walking or running.
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: We all love our pets, but please leave them at home for this run. Especially with the fun of the color powder, we don't want to stress the animals or cause them to act aggressively toward others at the run.
Q: Do I have to run, or is walking allowed?
A: Run, walk -- we don't care! Just get out there an get moving! We expect a good blend of runners, joggers and walkers. If you plan to run, please move toward the front of the pack at the start. If you plan on walking or have a stroller, please hang to the back. But as with any exercise, please consult your physician before starting a new activity. We want you healthy, but we want you to be safe!
Q: So what's this color stuff all about?
A: Getting active with your family is just part of the fun at the SEMO Pumpkin Run. We're introducing an all new kind of fall color... Click on the Color Runners Guide Page for all those FAQs about running with color!
